Non-School Competitor Registration Information

Non-School Competitor Registration Information

Need more information about non-school competitor (NSC) registration?

Read below to see who qualifies and what is needed to complete a registration.

1. Ensure Eligibility

A student may compete as a non-school competitor (NSC) only if their official school of record is not registering for the 2021-2022 Competition Series. An NSC must be a student in grades 6-8; only the first 12 NSCs registered from any one school may participate. NOTE: Students attending home schools or virtual schools are not NCSs; home schools and virtual schools must use the school registration portal.

What you need for this:

  • Confirm with school officials that your child's school will not be participating in the Competition Series. MATHCOUNTS may contact the school of a registered NSC to confirm eligibility.
  • Review our official competition rules to see complete NSC qualifications.

2. NSC Info

You'll give us a bit of information so we can confirm your registration.

What you need for this:

  • Student name & information
  • Parent/guardian name, address (this is where we'll ship the competition kit), email & phone number
  • Child's official school of record, including city, state and ZIP code

3. Payment Info

Non-school competitors must pay via credit card. MATHCOUNTS reserves the right to cancel an NSC’s registration, without refund, if their school registers for the 2021-2022 Competition Series.
