NON-SCHOOL COMPETITOR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
NSC registration for the 2024-2025 program year will open in November.
A student may compete as a non-school competitor (NSC) if:
- Their official school of record is not registering for the 2024-2025 Competition Series.
- They are a student in grades 6-8.
- There are no more than 12 NSCs registered from the school. If there are already 12 NSC registrations for your school, additional NSC registrations are not possible.
NOTE: Students attending home schools or virtual schools are not NCSs; home schools and virtual schools must use the school registration portal.
Before registering an NSC, please:
- Confirm with school officials that your child's school will not be participating in the Competition Series. MATHCOUNTS may contact the school of a registered NSC to confirm eligibility.
- Review our official competition rules to see complete NSC qualifications.
1. Visit the MATHCOUNTS Registration Portal
To access the registration portal click the link below. You must be logged into the website in order to submit an NSC registration.
- If you're already logged in, you will be taken to the program selection screen. In order to submit an NSC registration, the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series should be your only selection.
- If you have an existing MATHCOUNTS account but aren't logged in, you will be prompted to log in. After logging in, you'll be redirected to the program selection screen.
- If you're a new user, you will have the option to create an account. After creating your MATHCOUNTS account, you will be redirected to the program selection screen.
2. NSC Info
After selecting Competition Series as your program, you will need to select NSC Competitor as your registration type. You will then be redirected to a screen where you will need to submit NSC registration info.
What you need for this:
- Child's official school of record, including city, state & ZIP code
- Principal name, email & phone number
- Student competitor name & information
- Parent/guardian name, address, email & phone number
3. Payment Info
Non-school competitors must pay via credit card. MATHCOUNTS reserves the right to cancel an NSC’s registration, without refund, if their school registers for the 2023-2024 Competition Series.
What you need for this:
- Credit card information
The parent of an NSC is considered their coach and will receive:
- a mailed kit with a welcome letter, handbook, participation certificate and ribbon.
- online access to preparation resources.
NSCs participate in the same official competitions that school competitors do and can advance to the national & state level based on their performance.
