NATIONAL COMPETITION SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE

Welcome! We hope you can join us at the 2023 Raytheon Technologies MATHCOUNTS National Competition.

The event is a celebration of the incredible Mathletes, educators, volunteers, alumni and education advocates who make MATHCOUNTS possible. This page has the schedule of events, as well as info for the media.

National Competition Events

All events take place at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista @ Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL,
unless otherwise noted.

SATURDAY, MAY 13

Arrival Day

Registration for Students & Coaches
10:00am – 7:00pm ET   |   East/West Registration
Event hub where state teams pick up hotel keys, welcome materials and other important event info. Teams also will have the opportunity to meet the sponsors who make MATHCOUNTS possible and learn about the interesting STEM work they do! 

Buffet Dinner
6:00 – 8:00pm ET   |   International Ballroom North
Meal ticket required if not an official national competitor or state team coach.

Coaches' Meeting
6:15 – 7:00pm ET   |   International Ballroom Center/South
Mandatory for official state team coaches. Coaches will have dinner with students in International Ballroom North immediately following the Coaches' Meeting.

Team Meetings
8:00 – 10:00pm ET
Location determined by official state team coach.

SUNDAY, MAY 14

MATHCOUNTS Registration Open
7:00am – 1:00pm ET   |   East/West Registration
Event hub where guests and state teams can get info and purchase meal/event tickets and event swag. 

Buffet Breakfast
7:30 – 8:30am ET   |   International Ballroom North
Meal ticket required if not an official state team coach or national competitor.

MATHCOUNTS Written Competition
8:45 – 11:15am ET   |   International Ballroom Center/South
The final level of the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series, where the top 224 Mathletes in the nation will complete both individual and team rounds of rigorous math competition. Closed to the public.

Preparing Strong Math Students for College and Careers
9:30 – 10:30am ET   |   Palm Ballroom 3 & 4
Seminar presented by Richard Rusczyk, MATHCOUNTS alumnus and Art of Problem Solving Founder. Open to all guests.

Special MATHCOUNTS Event & Lunch
12:30 – 4:30pm ET   |   Location TBD
More information will be shared later. Ticket required if not an official state team coach or national competitor.

State Teams At Disney Springs
4:30 – 9:00pm ET   |   Disney Springs
Teams can have dinner in Disney Springs during this time.

MONDAY, MAY 15

MATHCOUNTS Registration Open
7:00am – 7:00pm ET   |   East/West Registration
Event hub where guests and state teams can get info and purchase meal/event tickets and event swag.

Meal ticket required if not an official state team coach or national competitor.

Doors Open for Countdown Round
9:30am   |   Grand Ballroom

MATHCOUNTS Countdown Round
10:00am – noon ET   |   Grand Ballroom
Showcase of the nation's top young mathematicians, hosted by Julie Montoya of Raytheon Intelligence & Space. Twelve students with the highest scores on the MATHCOUNTS written exam will compete head-to-head in thrilling, fast-paced matchups and vie for the title of National Champion. Medals will be presented to winning students. Open to the public (registration required).

Celebration Luncheon
12:30 – 1:30pm ET   |   Crystal Room
Luncheon hosted by Tracey Gray, Chair of the MATHCOUNTS Board of Directors, for supporters and friends of MATHCOUNTS. Highlights from the program year will be shared and special guests will be recognized for their contributions to the program. By invitation only.

Buffet Lunch
12:30 – 1:30pm ET   |   International Ballroom North
Meal ticket required if not an official state team coach or national competitor.

Math Video Challenge Finals
2:00 – 3:00pm ET
Screening of the 4 student-created videos that advanced to the final round of the Math Video Challenge. Four teams will present their videos and the 224 national competitors will vote to determine the winning video. Open to the public (registration required).

MATHCOUNTS Party
7:00 – 9:00pm ET   |   Grand Ballroom
Join us for dancing, games and dinner as we celebrate the achievements of the students and coaches at the National Competition! Ticket required if not an official state team coach or national competitor.

TUESDAY, MAY 16

Departure Day

Buffet Breakfast
6:00 – 8:00am ET   |   International Ballroom North
Open only to official state team coaches and national competitors.
