Game Recap

The classic review game played in classrooms across the country...but with a MATHCOUNTS twist! Inspired by the 2023-2024 MATHCOUNTS poster, in MATHCOUNTS Trashketball, teams can earn 1, 5 or 10 points with each shot, but if they have the same number of points as another team at the end of a round, they both lose!

Materials Needed
  • At least 1 trash can or other large receptacle (ideally 3)
  • 1 roll of masking tape
  • Dry-erase board and markers for keeping score
  • Trashketball PowerPoint presentation with problems
  • 1 writing utensil per student
  • Scratch paper
ball of paper going into a trash can
