FUNCTION BATTLESHIP - PUBLIC RECAP
Exploration Recap
In Function Battleship, Mathletes manipulate functions to explore and better understand translating, stretching, compressing and other transformations of functions. This exploration can be done with graph paper and pencil, but using Desmos makes this feel more like the strategy game Battleship, and allows students to see the effects of changing coefficients and exponents and of adding and subtracting integers in the functions they graph. Bonus: This activity includes sample solutions for each scatter plot.
