Game Recap
Inspired by the 2021-2022 MATHCOUNTS poster, Fantastic Phoenixes is a fun, fast-paced game based in counting and combinatorics concepts. In 2-, 3- or 4-player games, Mathletes race to create a "phoenix" of every possible color combination (of one, two or three colors) before the color cards run out!
Materials Needed
- 2 sets of 4 color cards (blue, red, purple, yellow) per student
- Large playing surface (large table or the floor)
- Phoenix Color Combinations list (optional)
- 1 writing utensil per student
- Scratch paper
