THE COUNTING BEE - PUBLIC RECAP
Game Recap
The Counting Bee helps Mathletes improve their basic arithmetic skills and numeracy. Students are given a starting number and a counting number and try to count as far as they can within a time limit. Students can play in groups or be in a tournament with your entire club!
Materials Needed
- 1 score sheet per student
- 1 calculator per group of students
- 1 stopwatch (or use the timer on your phone) per group
- The Counting Bee Highlights video (optional)

Only registered math clubs can access this activity. Fortunately, for you, the National Math Club is completely free and open to both
schools and non-school groups. If you're a volunteer or educator leading 4 or more students in grades 6-8, you're likely eligible.
