Volunteer with MATHCOUNTS
Help prepare the next generation of engineers, doctors, scientists and teachers by volunteering with MATHCOUNTS! Alumni are in a position to make a particularly meaningful impact on current student participants by connecting over a shared experience in MATHCOUNTS. There are many ways to volunteer with our organization! Below are some of the most common ways that alumni stay involved with MATHCOUNTS.
Chapter & State Competition Support
Running a competition can be an involved and challenging process, so chances are the chapter or state coordinator who runs the MATHCOUNTS competitions in your area is in need of support and volunteers! From test proctoring to public speaking, there are a number of ways you can help at your local chapter or state competition, and every local community is different. To get involved as a competition volunteer, please contact your local chapter or state coordinator. You can access contact information for coordinators here.
Lead a MATHCOUNTS Program
Leading a MATHCOUNTS program at your school, local community center or organization is a great way to give back and share your passion for math with bright, motivated students. Here are ways to get involved:
- Become a Club Leader for The National Math Club. You can contact local schools, or bring The National Math Club to your organization (YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, etc.). Any group of four students who meet in person regularly is eligible to form a math club, so getting started is easy! Learn more about The National Math Club here.
- Become a Team Advisor for the Math Video Challenge. Help a team of four students work together to create a video that teaches a math concept. Learn more about how to get started with the Math Video Challenge here.
- Become a MATHCOUNTS Competition Series Coach. If you're a teacher, you can start a Competition Series team at your school. If you're not a teacher and would like to coach a team, then you can reach out to local schools near you about establishing a MATHCOUNTS Competition Series team there. Be sure to get permission from the school administration before getting started. Learn more about the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series here.
